Superb, free 145 page book from ‘The Turnaround King’ & President of the Kennedy Centre, Michael Kaiser.
International Tickets and Pricing studies
A comprehensive and readable guide to pricing and the role pricing can play in strategic planning. Extremely interesting, and challenges some common misconceptions.
International Economic Impact Studies
The one that started it all – Dominic Shellard’s groundbreaking 2004 study includes the Shellard Formula which remains the most widely used economic impact formula.
Auckland City Performing Arts & Theatre District studies:
Professional Performing Arts Venue Study Needs Analysis 2011 – Auckland City
Raises more questions than it answers, but shows a Council trying to get their head around ways to plan for the future of venue provision in Auckland. Makes no qualitative or benchmarking assessments of existing provision, however, so is of limited use.
Governance Reports & Options studies:
Theatre Venue Reports and Options/Feasibility studies:
Extremely interesting exploration of new ideas around the functions of cultural venues, which should make boards and executives consider how to future-proof their venues.
